tU pHACe w/Disco Biscuits at Nokia Times Square Theater

It's been a while since we posted anything new here, but some things are worth the wait. Last night, our friend tU pHACe performed with the Disco Biscuits at the Nokia Times Square Theater and New Rome was backstage to witness pHACe rock the crowd. After performing a P-Funk cover, pHACe played his track "Rock Your Dance" with the Disco Biscuits backing him up and got an amazing response from the Biscuits' fans.

The night had further importance for New Rome as our New Rome X tU pHACe collaboration tees were finally put into the artist's hands for the first time. tU pHACe was thrilled with the results and we got many compliments and inquiries about the shirts, including backstage from the Disco Bicuits band members. Check back here for information on the drop date for those tees for our web store and availability at retailers near you. Pictures from the event and pics of the New Rome X tU pHACe tee below.

Let the young take the night - October 4th

Saturday October 4th, New Rome Clothing hosted a wild night of musical performances with DJ Swaaan killing it with his 90's jams and Indian Giver took the crowd with their eclectic mash ups, from their blog-distributed mixtape 'Taking it all Back." Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the night. Stay tuned as we bring it all back to Public Assembly for a January showcase.

City Shrinker

Ben Thomas is the city shrinker and he makes the ordinary seem amazing. In his own words:

You see amazing things every day. It could be out the window of the train on your way to work, it could be in your back yard, even better it could be somewhere completely foreign, something you didnt know existed. My aim is to give that feeling of newness with each shot I take. My method is to take what was once large and shrink it down to model size. To take the familiar and get you thinking even if for a second "wait a minute, is that..."

Born 1981 in Adelaide Australia, Ben Thomas developed his creative itch playing jazz trumpet then moving onto filming the local bands he grew up admiring. Ben later graduated from the International Design Effects and Animation School (Adelaide) before picking up a still camera and a new city, Melbourne. Ben is constantly evolving the techniques he employs to bring about a style that is not only creative but fun.

These photos look like they are of scale models but it is a trick of the eye. I think they are beautiful, see for yourself.

New Rome @ Just For Kicks

Everyone from New Rome turned out for the Just For Kicks event hosted by Capital Concertz and Dre from Nu Era Entertainment.  Although the turn out wasn't great (it was Labor Day weekend after all) some familiar faces showed to check out the event featuring a set by DJ Clark Kent.  We spoke with Clark a bit before the show about New Rome and he said he dug the Messiah tee, suggesting we do a "Shuttlesworth" version.  After the set he posed for the picture below with Liz, New Rome's new marketing head.  Check out other pictures from the event below and check back for news about a couple upcoming New Rome events.
